Well, I'm still getting used to my new camera phone and these are not the best shots, but you can see a few folks working on the country church painting and the sunset boats in the water. Well done everyone!!!!

Student's work.....
As many of you know, I do private lessons and also help guide students with individual paintings. I just had to show off Christine's painting of a golf course for her Dad. Since she's already given it to him, I thought I would share her hard work with you. She did an amazing job! And NO....I didn't touch that canvas!!! That's all her!! Congrats on a job well done Christine!!!! (You can see the blown up photo right behind her canvas.)
As you can see, she's putting the final "tweaks" in these paintings. Well done!!!!!

End of Summer!!!
Can you believe it's the end of summer! Well, here's another class that I forgot to post photos for....and I completely missed taking photos of the tiger and Grand Canyon classes! So sorry about that! When class gets busy, I always seem to miss taking them. It's been a while since we did the red barn, so here's a couple of photos of your works in progress. Great job!!

Congratulations Julie!
Congratulations Julie Brawley on winning Christine's contest! I can't wait to have you come paint with us in class.
This painting is done all with the Liquid Clear instead of the Liquid White. Remember when using Liquid Clear to make sure you blot as much of the thinner out of your brush as possible after cleaning it. Liquid Clear and the odorless paint thinners/turpenoids, don't mix. You'll get sort of the same effect as "crackling" medium. Another way to prevent this is to make sure you have plenty of paint on your brush. Happy Painting!

Hello Kentucky!!!

I'm taking sign ups now for April and the other upcoming classes for 2012. Can't wait to paint here in my Ole Kentucky Home! Happy Painting everyone!

Blue Ribbon...
This was my entry in the fair this year. I got a blue ribbon! (Wehoo!) To encourage more of my students to enter paintings at the local fair next year, I'm thinking about having a bit of a competition. Maybe something like you get a free or discounted class if you can beat me. There was not nearly enough competition this year and I would like to boost it up a bit. How cool would that be if one of my students beat me! I'm just mulling it around for now. Happy Painting!

Showing off a student's painting...

I just have to show off Nancy's wonderful painting! In my class we all do the same painting, something from one of the Bob Ross books. However, the intention is that you will be able to use what you've learned to do some of your own work. This is an example of that. One of the students in my class, Nancy, did this painting of an area down around Crittenden Ky. Isn't it fantastic!!! Great job Nancy!!! I just had to show it off!!

Steeper Mountains...
Here's an example of some classic Bob Ross mountains with a steeper slope. For taller-steeper mountains, just change the angle that you pull the palette knife down. Make them more vertical. You can do this!!!! For those of you in Kentucky.... I'll be home soon and will be taking "official" sign-ups for my first class on April 23rd. Check out my website for class dates. I can't wait to see everyone soon!!!! Happy Painting!
