von Liebig Demo...

Here's a photo of me at the family day at the von Liebig Arts Center. Nuts About The Von Liebig is what they call it. You can't see it, but just to the right of me there was also the Art in the Park fair going on as well. We had a great day. By "we" I mean Mary Sheehan of the Just Painting blog. Mary's also teaches a class here at von Liebig and she's the one who took this mugshot of me. I told her to make me a size 3 and 6 foot tall, but I guess she didn't have photoshop! LOL! Don't you just love what the wind did with my hair? Ha! Happy Painting!

Next class painting at von Liebig

Wow, what a busy couple of weeks I've had. Yesterday, I had the privilege of doing a demo with Mary Sheehan Winn of the Just Painting Blog at the von Liebig Art Center family day. What fun it was! Mary is also offering a painting class here and I highly recommend it. Thanks to all of you who stopped by for a chat or with your painting questions. Also, it was great to meet all of the young future artists. What a nice group of young people they had volunteering there. Happy Painting everyone!!

Here's the next painting this Thursday February 9th at my class at the von Liebig. Hope to see you there!!!

Enjoying Florida!

Ok, so if you're wondering if I paint every day...well not on this day!!! I prepped some canvas at von Liebig then we headed out on our bicycles. (My helmet hair isn't too bad!!) Southern Florida is beautiful this time of year, and it so cool to be able to do this in mid-January. Happy Painting!

** Also, I'm having trouble posting replies to comments...don't know if it's on my end or Bloggers. Thanks everyone!

I've got a new phone....

And....it has a camera on it. Hopefully that will mean I'll take it out and take photos during the classes. That being said, here are a couple of Florida's fine ladies working on their paintings from this past Thursday. Aren't they amazing! After getting a late start and past the fire alarms...(yep they went off during class)...everyone came back and did beautiful paintings. Great job!!

Thank you....

Another great class at the Von Liebig this past Saturday! I've posted a few photos of some of the students. Great job everyone!! Sadly, this was my last one of 2011. I'm already working with them to get set up for next winter, so....I'll be back!! I want to say thank you to those who've allowed me to share my gifts with you here in Naples. Also, I want to thank everyone at the Von Liebig for allowing me to be a part of the staff. I can't tell you what a great organization this is for artists and patrons of the arts. Happy Painting!!!

Blogging is a small world!!!

On Saturday, I got to be a part of Nuts About The Von Liebig. It's sort of a "family day" with many cool things for kids and families to be a part of and it was free!! I was there doing some painting demonstrations. I have to tell you, it was so fun! I met some wonderful adults and kids and believe it or not a fellow blogger! Yep! I follow Mary Sheehan Winn's blog and she stopped by and recognized me! What are the odds! Mary is a member of the Fresh Daily painters and her work is just beautiful! You'll have to stop by and check out her blog. Mary thanks for stopping by to introduce yourself!

If you're wondering what the buttons are all about, I met some very cute "future artists" at family day. These girls made me a button to help remember my fun day. The kids on Saturday were just a riot. One youngster, while waiting in line to get his face painted, was watching me paint. I had just started blocking in my mountains with the palette knife. I asked him if he thought my mountains were any good. He thought about it a moment (probably deciding if he should tell the truth or not) and said no! LOL! It was so funny! I told him I would have to work on them! (Too bad I don't have him around to critique all of my work!! Ha!)

The painting in today's photo is what we'll be doing in class at the Von Liebig Art Center on Saturday 2/12/2011.

The Von Liebig Art Center

I just had to post a photo of the Von Liebig Art Center here in Naples, Florida. I'll be teaching some classes here in the coming weeks. Everyone here has been so supportive and encouraging and I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of this incredibly talented staff. The front of the building is beautiful, I had to post a photo of it (notice the palms and blue skies!!! Sorry all you folks in Kentucky weathering the snow & cold!!!). The studio they're allowing me to use is upstairs and the facility itself is in the heart of downtown Naples. Classes will be beginning soon and I'm scheduled to do a demo on Family day there in February. Excited can't begin to describe it!!!

Just a note to all of you awesome students in the Northern Kentucky area...thanks so much for your kind words and input about my new website. I miss you all and can't wait to start classes up again in April. Happy painting!!!
