April 20th...First class of the year in Ky.....

I'm so looking forward to starting our classes back up in KY.  The website has been updated with the new class dates and I'll be sending out an email soon to take sign ups for 2013.  Thanks so much to all of my students here in Florida at the von Liebig Art Center.  What a great season we had!!!  I can't wait to see you all next year.  Happy painting!!!

Muting colors....

My style is typically very vibrant...could be a personality thing...but muting colors is an important part of painting.  Every color on this little foggy painting has been de-saturated or muted in some way.  Had I used the paints right out of the tube, I would not have achieved this foggy effect.  Happy Painting!!!

A few Saturdays ago I got to participate in the "Nut's About the von Liebig" day.  I've taken a few photos of the kids doing various art projects and below is Mary Sheehan Winn who also teaches a class here at von Liebig.  Fun day.  It's so fun seeing our "future artists" out with their family and making some fun projects.
This is Mary with one of her little still lifes.

Happy Painting!!!!!
